2011 Rockledge Rumble Update 1

I just received the following update from the race director of the Rockledge Rumble (which will be my first official ultramarathon). If you are planning to run the Rumble, better get your entry in soon!

The Rumble is filling fast with the 15K already filled. The 30K and 50K are already 50% full as of today. So if you are planning to run the Rumble don’t wait until the last minute as you won’t get in.

The Patagonia long sleeve shirts are in, the trail permit is approved, Jackson Pavilion is ours for Friday and Saturday and most importantly the Porta Potties are ordered. We hope to have even more veterans of WWII, Korea, Viet Nam, IRAQ and Afghanistan in attendance for the pre race veterans salute this year. So if you have a loved one, Father, Mother, brother or sister who served, bring ‘em out! Also, we will again hold the kids race for NTTR members and race participants ONLY and it’s free. Kids must be 12 and under.

Cool weather is right around the corner, and hopefully rain is also, so you can ramp up your training. The Grey Hounds looking for a good home will be with us again this year, you can go to their site through the Rumble web site to see these magnificent athletes.  For Bill Rumbaugh we have ordered a special orange shirt with the Long Horn logo on the back, so he’ll be happy with the shirt this year. We look forward to seeing everyone!

Best regards,
